Dynamic Ampli ers: Settling, Slewing and Power Issues
نویسندگان
چکیده
The settling behavior and power consumption of dynamic opamps are considered. The dynamic opamp is compared with a class A opamp for di erent clock frequencies. A single pole model in a closed loop con guration is used to estimate slewing and settling behavior. SPICE simulation results agree with theoretical predictions. It is shown that for the same power consumption dynamic opamps settle much faster than class A opamps. Dynamic opamps are particularly well suited for ultra low power switched-capacitor designs.

متن کاملA General Relationship Between Ampli er Parameters and its Application to PSRR Improvement
| A general relationship between the gains of multiterminal ampli ers is derived in this paper. It reveals a constraint for the simultaneous improvement of the common-mode and the power-supply rejection ratios of the simple operational ampli er. This constraint can be relaxed by either adding a supplementary input terminal to the ampli er circuit or using a fully di erential design. The method ...
متن کاملSubmicron InP-based HBTs for Ultra-high Frequency Ampli ̄ers
Transistor bandwidths are approaching terahertz frequencies. Paramount to high speed transistor operation is submicron device scaling. High bandwidths are obtained with heterojunction bipolar transistors by thinning the base and collector layers, increasing emitter current density, decreasing emitter contact resistivity, and reducing the emitter and collector junction widths. In mesa HBTs, mini...
متن کاملCMOS Operational Ampli er Design and Optimization via Geometric Programming
| We describe a general method for optimized design of CMOS operational ampli ers. We observe that a wide variety of design objectives and constraints have a special form, i.e., they are posynomial functions of the design variables. As a result, the ampli er design problem can be expressed as a special form of optimization problem called geometric programming, for which very e cient global opti...
